When buying a new cosmetic product we often reach for the most known, well-marketed product. But we need to be more careful because cosmetics are packed with chemicals, and some of them can be harmful.
One of the most popular deodorants “AXE” had it right when they came up with the slogan “Feel the AXE effect”, but “the Effect” is not something to be marketed, loaded with chemicals that not only can do harm but also full with endocrine disruptors, chemicals that imitate human hormone function and therefore confuse the body.
The endocrine disruptors affect the reproduction, breast cancer, prostate cancer, neuroendocrinology, thyroid, obesity, and cardiovascular endocrinology.
But this is not the only harmful substance that adds to AXE toxicity.
Aluminum Zirconium Tetrachlorohydrex Gly
This is an active ingredient in this body spray. It limits the flow of sweat to the skin surface and this build up in the pores can lead to breast cancer, Alzheimer’s, nerve and kidney damage.
In case you wonder, this ingredient makes AXE products so foamy. Cocamidopropyl Betaine
is not toxic by himself, but the thing is that this ingredient interacts with other chemicals from food and cosmetics and as result, it produces nitrosamines that are highly carcinogenic and responsible for 40 types of cancer.
PPG-14 Bustyl Ether
When the armpits are kept unnaturally dry, they tend to pile up static cling, this paraben reduces it. Nevertheless, is found in 99% of all breast cancer tissue and it is also linked with reproductive and developmental toxicity.
This antimicrobial preservative is easily absorbed through the skin and can cause cancer, organ damage and reproductive toxicity.
As a conclusion the best way to smell fresh and keep the sweet away, use only natural deodorant.
