Dr. Mary Newport has come up with results of a study she conducted on the use of coconut oil that can change people’s perception completely.
When consuming coconut oil ketone bodies are generated and these compounds can help boost your brain function which is great in the treatment of age-related degenerative brain disease such as Alzheimer’s disease.
The motivation for Dr. Mary Newport to find an effective remedy and possible cure for age-related degenerative brain disease was brought about by her own personal experience as her husband suffered from a progressive dementia for a period of 5 years before an MRI revealed that he was showing early signs of Alzheimer’s disease.
According to her, her husband had trouble remembering little stuff like where the family cutlery was kept to not remembering discussions they have only a day or two earlier.
Her husband who was in his mid-50s had begun taking prescription drugs and this led to him losing weight, falling into a state of anxiety and depression.
He also had difficulty doing little tasks like cooking and even making use of a simple calculator. With the encouragement of his wife he however stayed as healthy as possible and even tried to get busy with work in the family backyard and garage.
In her research into her husband’s condition Dr. Mary Newport discovered that ketone or medium chain triglycerides could combat Alzheimer’s disease. The strength of medium chain triglycerides as a potent treatment of several ailments have not gone unnoticed and it had already been used in the treatment of ailments such as:
- Parkinson’s disease,
- Multiple sclerosis
- Drug resistant epilepsy
- Huntington’s disease
However, in the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease Dr. Mary Newport believes that ketones will boost the oxygen lost by the brain and therefore helping it function properly.
She explained that it was effective in treating children with drug resistant epilepsy and even heart related diseases.
Dr. Mary Newport stated that if there is a shortage of glucose in the body then the ketones will provide the body with the necessary energy needed.
However, in the case of Alzheimer’s disease certain neurons find it difficult to absorb glucose as a result of insulin resistance and they will eventually die as a result. But if these cells were to be provided with ketones it would help them remain alive and active as well.
Armed with this information she began to administer a daily dosage of coconut oil to her hubby. She gave him 3 tablespoons of coconut oil, two times per day.
She did this in order to make sure that her husband had a steady supply of ketones in his body system.
In just about 2 months of steady treatment she noticed significant improvements in the health of her husband.
He became more active and could remember stuff better, he’s communication skills also improved tremendously and tremors which he had since the onset of the disease had ceased significantly.
In just under a year her husband – Steve Newport was a completely changed person, he could recognise all his friends and relatives and could have a conversation with everyone on past and present issues concerning them. He was also happier and physically better than he was previously.
Dr. Mary Newport has encouraged a lot of people suffering from Alzheimer’s diseases to begin a treatment course in coconut oil as she is a living witness of its efficacy.
