Many of you must have seen green potatoes. Potatoes are used in many ways in our cuisine, but green potatoes should never be used. They are green due to the presence of large amounts of chlorophyll in it. They are dangerous for your health.
It has high amounts of a chemical known as solanine. This can lead to nausea, diarrhea, headaches and vomiting. Chlorophyll is not dangerous for health, but more the chlorophyll, more the solanine that is produced. It is solanine which causes harm to your body.
It is enough for a 100 pound man to have 16 ounces of this green potato to fall sick. Potatoes should always be stored in shady and cool places. Green potatoes are never usually sent to the market. They are removed from the storage area due to the high amount of solanine that they have.
If you see one, please throw it away. Just keep away from green potatoes.
