Ibuprofen can be found in almost all of our medicine cabinets. It is a staple; you go to the drugstore and buy Ibuprofen, which you may also know as Advil. It’s easy, you get a headache, swallow two tablets and hey presto, your headache is gone. It is easy to do, your pain disappears quickly and it is inexpensive. It also seemingly has no side effects and poses no big risks.
But this is not true. Ibuprofen is dangerous. Ibuprofen is over 50 years old. It means we have been ‘getting duped’ for over 50 years. Because although Ibuprofen has no side effects that you can see or feel immediately, it has some long term and very dangerous effects.
We are even getting warnings from the FDA!
But Ibuprofen is not safe! Even though Ibuprofen is an over the counter drug there are some serious side effects. Natural health practitioners have been aware of this for ages, but now even the FDA is warning you.
Ibuprofen can cause damage to the heart
This is what the FDA has said:
Even with short term use, your risk of heart attack and stroke increases significantly. The risk is higher the longer you continue to use Ibuprofen.
You do not need to have an existing heart condition to be at risk, although such a condition will increase your chance.
These risks make Ibuprofen especially dangerous if you are over the age of forty.
This is bad news. If the FDA are saying ‘be careful’ then you know you really have to be careful.
This means, instead of just going to the drug store and popping your Ibuprofen, you need to find an option. And we think the perfect and easiest option is a natural one.
