The results of a research conducted by a team of British scientists have shown that chocolate consumption may be associated with reduced risk of cardiovascular diseases.
This research lasted for 10 years during which a team of British researchers followed a total of 25,000 men and women in England in order to observe the results of the consumed quantity of chocolate and cardiovascular condition, i.e. the possibility for increased cholesterol level, heart attack, stroke and similar indicators.
The results showed that individuals who consumed more chocolate suffered less from cardiovascular diseases.
According to the study, the intake of chocolate, up to 100g per day, is associated with a reduced risk of coronary disease and stroke, the researchers explained.
However, young people consumed chocolate the most. Especially young people with great health condition who sports more than elderly. Therefore, perhaps lifestyle affects much more than chocolate.
