Cannabis has been used by people for medicinal reasons for a very long time now and for this reason cannabis also known as marijuana has been cultivated.
It is on record that the Chinese Emperor, Shen Nung way back in 2727 BC used cannabis.
In ancient Egypt cannabis was used in the treatment of inflammation and glaucoma while the ancient Greek used cannabis to cure ear inflammation and pains. In America early settler use cannabis to treat anxiety and depression.
In 1850 the United States Pharmacopeia stated that cannabis was believed to be effective in the treatment of the following ailments:
- Opiate addiction
- Uterine bleeding
- Convulsive disorders
- Excessive menstrual bleeding problem
By 1930 the United States federal government banned its use and this is despite the fact that it had been used for its potent medicinal properties for centuries.
Cannabis is however making a comeback into the medical field after series of tests have been performed to verify it’s efficacy as a viable alternative option in the treatment of several health conditions.
Cannabis Is Medicinal
Cannabis is rich in cannabinoids which are highly potent compounds and there has been over 20,000 known studies highlighting the medicinal importance of this compound.
A 2014 study that was published in the Journal of Neuroimmune Pharmacology stated that cannabinoids are effective in destroying brain cancer and that not even conventional cancer treatments can match this.
While there are more than 60 cannabinoids derived from cannabis, it is the cannabidiol (CBD) that is viewed as the most potent in cancer treatment. It is even believed to be effective in the treatment of gliobastoma which is a cancer that is very hard to beat.
Research has also shown that cannabinoids will block the regeneration of cancer stem cells.
The importance of this findings is that cancer stem cells are notorious for breaking off from a tumor and then taking root somewhere else and in effect multiplying.
Conventional treatment can reduce tumor size but they will also boost the breakaway cancer stem cells and it is not uncommon for the treatment to convert otherwise normal cells into cancer cells.
With the mountain of evidence stacked in favour of cannabis as a potent medicinal compound it’s use is only legal in a few states in the U.S.
What Is Coconut Oil?
Coconut oil is known to be effective in the treatment of a large number of ailments ;
- Heart disease
- Immune system issues
- Digestive problems
- Kidney disease
It is believed that coconut fiber extract has potent anti-cancer properties, it is said to be active in the treatment of leukemia and this was discovery was published in the Brazilian Journal of Biological Research in 2007.
A 2014 publication in Lipids in Health and Disease stated that virgin coconut oil will ease the side effects of chemotherapy in breast cancer patients.
Combining Cannabis And Coconut Oil In Treating Cancer
A challenge in the medical field with the use of cannabis as a potent alternative for the treatment of ailments is in its administration and delivery system.
While there are people who smoke the herb, this is seen as an unhealthy and filthy habit to others.
However, researchers have discovered that a safe and healthy way of administering the medication is to mix it with coconut oil.
With the two combined you will have an effective solution that has the potential to destroy cancer cells.
