While in the third group:
Subjects only drank water
However, subjects in the three groups were given the same food for lunch.
Their blood samples were also taken periodically to ensure that their blood sugar level was ideal.
It was observed that in just 3 hours after breakfast, subjects from the second group that ate cornflakes felt famished even though cornflakes contains the same amount of calories as oatmeal, the major difference is that oatmeal stats longer in the stomach than cornflakes and the latter readily raises the blood’s glucose level.
Oatmeal therefore gives a feeling of satiety in the subjects of the first group and this meal has between 31 to 51% less calories which makes it a great breakfast meal to consider if you want to lose weight.
This meal is high in fiber which is great for digestion.
