You are at your optimum health when your body is slightly alkaline. The chemical reactions inside your cells, the beneficial bacteria in your gut and your immune system all work better in a slightly alkaline environment.
The range of the pH is from 0 – 14, with 7.0 being neutral. Everything above 7.0 is alkaline, and below 7.0 is considered acidic. An acid body means your systems has an unhealthy environment where illnesses can flourish.

Your body pH affects everything. The body will try to compensate for acid by utilizing alkaline mineral reserves, like sodium from the stomach, and calcium from the bones. This is a primary cause of osteoporosis and a number of other diseases. If there are not enough minerals in the diet to compensate, the acid build-up in the cells will occur, resulting in symptoms like pain, arthritis, fibromyalgia, MS, and lupus.
Cancer is not compatible in a healthy pH environment full of oxygen. For example, cancer of the heart doesn’t exist. This is because blood flowing from the lungs into the heart are at the highest pH and oxygen levels within the entire body. As the blood travels through the lungs, acidic toxins are thrown out of the system leaving it rich with oxygen and a high blood pH.
In the absence of oxygen, glucose undergoes fermentation to lactic acid. This causes the pH of the cell to drop even lower. Urine and saliva pH of terminal cancer patients almost always runs between 4.0 and 5.5. When cancer goes into metastases the pH drops even lower.
How To Check Your pH Balance
Testing the pH level is easy and it can be done at home. Just pick up pH test strips from your local pharmacy and you are set.
You can test your urine or your saliva. If you test it true your urine, it is best to test your morning urine and the goal is for the pH level to be between 6.5 and 7.5.For saliva, you should wait at least two hours after eating and make sure that your spit is clean. The pH levels tested true saliva should be similar to the one done on your urine.
But food it’s not the only thing that affects the pH levels, stress can also affect your pH levels. So calm yourself by doing something you like, eat healthier and drink a lot of water.
