It originates from a spring of Epsom, Surrey in England. There, the water rises to the non porous clay of London and payer of porous chalk, thus resulting in Epsom Downs! It was discovered in 1618 by an Epsom farmer who saw his cows refusing to drink this bitter water. Then, he noticed how this bitter water healed skin issues such as rashes! That’s how the Epsom salt becomes popular. In fact, it actually was the 1st spa salt whose term was coined by the Nehemiah Grew in his book of 1695.

There are 2 major uses of Epsom salt: for hair beauty and for skin health.
Epsom and skin
The body constantly creates new cells because the old ones die. The new ones replace the old, maybe 1 million on a daily basis. No matter how scary it may sounds, within a year, we shed 8 kg of dead skin. This means that our outer skin layer is covered with nothing but a lot of dead skin. Epsom exfoliating – You will need a mild abrasive to exfoliate good. Get a handful of Epsom salt and put it on the wet skin. After a shower, relax in a bath with some Epsom salt. You can add some olive oil into it if you want to moisturize the skin.
Epsom for acne – Exfoliating helps to clean the pores. Therefore, the Epsom salt removes microbes and fights acne.
