Since the invention of the microwave oven, there has been a rapid rise in the number of people worldwide that own and use this appliance on a regular basis. It is estimated that over 80% of people globally make use of microwave ovens. Most people however, are not even aware of how this cooking device works.
The way the microwave oven works is the AC or alternating current will reverse the polarity of atoms. By so doing there is some sort of friction generated, which causes the water molecules within the food to vibrate so violently that it literally heats up and cooks the food from the inside.
Microwave Cooking Is Hazardous To Your Health
By using a microwave oven to heat tour food you end up destroying all the nutrients in the food. As the water molecules in the food vibrates violently, the molecular structure of the food is altered and as a consequence it loses its nutritional value. A lot of studies have been conducted on this and in one study more than 30% of vitamin B12 in milk, pork and raw meat subjected to microwave heating was completely lost.
Also when breast milk is heated with microwave oven it loses the compound that protects infants from bacterial infections. As a matter of fact a study proved that breast milk heated with microwave oven had a larger growth of E.coli than controlled breast milk, a study revealed that the bacteria growth was as high as 18 times more than that seen in the controlled milk.
One other problem with using a microwave oven is the risk of cancer. If your wrap your food in a plastic bag and microwave it, you can infuse carcinogenic compounds from the plastic bag into your food and in effect making the food highly carcinogenic. It is also believed that foods that are deemed microwavable are rife in carcinogenic compounds such as; xylene, BPA, toluene, polyethylene terpthalate (PET) and benzene. You should avoid those plastic containers that you pack your food in before microwaving, the carcinogens in the plastic containers will get into the food and make it highly carcinogenic in nature.
Microwaved milk and veggies are also believed to cause serious blood issues. With high cholesterol levels experienced and a decrease in the red blood cells, while the white blood cells increase exponentially. You really have to reconsider using that microwave oven to heat your food, you should heat your food using a regular stove or gas cooker.
