We are talking about steam treatment that is quite popular natural method for cleansing face skin.

Steaming of the face is one of the best ways to refresh your skin, to open pores and clear the accumulated dirt.

This treatment for the face is very cheap and can be practiced at any time of the day. This warm and foggy treatment can control acne and pupils, but also can increase circulation and give you a warm, healthy and youthful glow of the skin.

What face steaming really is?

It is a way through which you will allow your face to absorb the steam for several minutes. Fill a container with boiling water, place your face directly over the container and cover your face with a towel in order to properly steam it.

How can practice this and how often?

Steaming the face can be left for the experts in cosmetic salons to perform. However you can do it yourselves in a simple way at home. This method of facial cleansing is suitable for all skin types, but you should not exaggerate its use.

It is recommendable to practice this method once in 7 days – people with oily skin can practice it up to two times in 7 days. If you have sensitive skin, it is better to perform this method on every two weeks.

Steam cleansing should be avoided by persons suffering from asthma or have allergy to some plants, people with skin prone to redness and people who have acne problems.

Face steaming in several steps:

– Thoroughly face cleaning

First, clean you face well. Using a mild face cleaning product clean the skin, but do not use peeling. With warm water, wash your face to ensure that no grease or dirt is left on the skin.

– Boil some water

Boil half a liter of water in a smaller pot. You can use the water with or without transferring it in another bowl. You can do the treatment using only water, but if you want better results, it is recommendable to add some plants or essential oils in the water.

– Chose plant or essential oil

For oily skin: Lavender, chamomile, mint, green tea, tea tree or eucalyptus oil, thin lemon slices.

For dry skin: Chamomile, lavender, green tea, rose oil.

For sensitive skin: Lavender, chamomile.

For combined type of skin: Tea tree oil, lavender, green tea.

Once you choose with what you will “spice up” the water, place the ingredient in the container with hot water and let it stand there for 5-10 minutes. This way the steam will not be hot and you will avoid irritation of the skin. In addition, hot steam can cause the appearance of small cracked capillaries.

– Take a towel and get ready for the treatment

If you have long hair, assemble it back into a bun so it does not bother you. Take a towel you will use so the steam is kept around the face.

– Steam your face for 10-20 minutes

Lean over the water, but not too close. Cover your head with the towel so the steam cannot escape. If you have sensitive skin, 10 minutes of steaming is quite enough for your face. If you have oily skin, you can stay under the towel for 20 minutes.

If you feel unpleasant due to heat, take small breaks and occasionally lift the towel.

When the treatment is done, wipe your face with the towel but do not rub the skin.

Finally, apply hydration cream onto your face.
