The sweeteners in the store-purchased almond milk are known to spike blood sugar levels and cause diabetes while carrageenan which is an artificial thickener is known to be responsible for inflammation of the colon.
It is much better for you to make your own almond milk drink rather than purchasing it. It is quite easy to prepare your own almond milk drink and all you need to do is to soak the almonds in water all through the night and by morning you can blend the almonds adding some water when blending.
Once blended use cheese cloth to strain the milk and store the strained milk in a glass jar and refrigerate. You can leave it in your fridge for a maximum of three full days.
You can add flavors like vanilla extract if you prefer, but with making your own almond milk you get to be sure that what you are consuming 100% pure almond and not some additives, sweeteners and flavouring.
