All of us want our clothes to look nice and bright. To make our clothes white, we use many chemicals in the form of laundry detergents. These detergents contain optical brighteners in them. The optical brighteners make our clothes look bright and white. They cover our clothes with fluorescent particles which are microscopic in nature. When the invisible UV light touches on these particles, they create an optical illusion by getting converted into visible light. This illusion makes our clothes look very white and clean.
Benzene is the ingredient of most of our detergents. Benzene, apart from being dangerous, does not degrade. Once it goes into the rivers or other water bodies, they stay there and kill the water animals. Benzene is poisonous to the fishes as well.
In humans, they can create allergic reactions. When you wash clothes using detergents, they come into contact with our hands. When the hands get exposed to the sun, a phototoxic reaction takes place. This causes rashes and irritation on our skin.
It can cause serious complications such as respiratory problems, kidney disorders and even cancer. This happens due to the presence of chlorine blanch in it. If the detergents are not mixed properly, certain dioxins and poisonous gases can be formed. These dioxins can cause the above problems.
But now a days, prices of all products are increasing at a rapid pace. Global chaos and health warnings are also causing worry. But there are natural products available which can substitute artificial chemicals. You need not worry just because you cannot use detergents. These natural products are as effective and whitening as the detergents.

Use baking soda: use half cup of it with your washing detergent. You can also make a paste with water. Use it on fabrics to make them fresh, white and soft.
To wash dishes: dishwashers can be used to whiten clothes. Use the eco-friendly products. They should be free from chlorine and phosphate. Add quarter cup of the dishwasher to your laundry cleaning detergent.
Distilled white vinegar can also be used: it can be used directly on stains and spots on your clothes. Add half a cup of it to your regular washing powder. The scent on your clothes from vinegar will not stay for long.
