Even though he had been questioned by the CIA, ridiculed by his colleagues and threatened with the prospect of having his license revoked and being unemployed – Professor Colin T. Campbell a nutritional biochemistry professor from Cornell University was still determined to reveal the truth about his scientific finding of cancer. Professor Campbell had uncovered the truth about severe medical conditions and ailments like cancer and the reason behind them. His theory was that these chronic ailments are as a result of the consumption of animal products by humans. These products include fish, meat, and milk. In his research, the professor discovered that there was a direct correlation between breast cancer and a protein that is predominantly active in milk known as casein.
The driving force behind Professor Colin T. Campbell’s work is his desire to provide remedies to chronic diseases that affect a large number of people worldwide. He is not driven by money or a person goal of being successful in his career. Success to the doctor would mean better health care to everyone including the rich and poor. The doctor does not support the popular notion of some modern day dietary and nutritional plans consisting of animal products as being healthy as so many doctors would openly agree with. To him, doctors do not have the relevant training to offer advice on diet and nutrition, so they cannot be called experts on nutrition and they should not be sort after to give expert advice on a diet as they are not nutritionists.
The professor has more than 50 years training on nutrition and over the years he has come to the conclusion that, for anyone to stay healthy there will need to be wholesome changes to their diet in order for them to avoid ailments like cancer and heart-related problems. The doctor believes that when we consume animal products, cancer cells are activated and we will need to reduce our consumption of meat products if we want to reduce our exposure to the risk of developing cancer. He believes that diets that are rich in animal protein will provide free radicals with the oxygen they need to thrive and cause dormant cancer cells to be active and develop.
In his research that has made him travel far and wide, he had discovered a connection between animal milk and liver cancer when examining children in the Philippines. What astounded the professor the more was that his research was not new as doctors from India had made a similar observation, in 2005 he and his son Thomas had written a book on diet and studies on epidemiology which turned out to be a success, selling over a million copies even though he had not expected such acceptance of his work at first and the book was translated into 25 other languages and sold around the world. By 2013 he wrote yet another best-selling book explaining how casein is a very harmful carcinogenic compound. Large pharmaceutical companies and other leading cancer experts frowned at his studies and it has never being given approval for human clinical trials. However, there is an increasing understanding that plant-based protein is an excellent dietary alternative that is effective in the treatment of heart-related ailments.
Fortunately for the professor, other experts like Professor Edward Giovannucci who is a professor of nutrition at Harvard School of Public Health have shown support for his claims about animal protein being the leading cause of cancer. With the information out there most people still do not care much about their diet and health, they still consumed large amounts of animal protein regardless of the health consequences.
