China is a major exporter of foods worldwide. This is because there is an ever growing demand by people for cost effective and affordable food, which the Chinese are able to provide on a large scale and at an affordable price. It has also led to some unscrupulous exporters cashing in on this gold mine to make quick money, by exporter sub-standard and in some cases inedible and extremely dangerous food.
Here are seven (7) foods that are being exported from China that are known to be carcinogenic and dangerous to your health:
- Chinese Plastic Rice
In China there is rice that is made out of resin and potato extract. This rice does not soften as normal rice should when boiled, even when boiled for an extensive period of time. The “plastic rice” as it is called is dangerous to our health and is known to be carcinogenic in nature.
- Apple Juice From China
It may interest you to know that more than 50% of all apple juice sold in the United States of America are imported from Chinese producers. However, it is a known fact that the apples produced are treated with highly carcinogenic pesticides, even with prohibited pesticides.
- China Produced Cod Fish
The cod fish produced in China are fed with pig and other animal faeces. They are also grown under very unhygienic circumstances. Interestingly more than half of the cod sold in the U.S is imported from Chinese cod fish farmers.
- Garlic From China
Methyl bromide us a very dangerous pesticide that has been banned for use in most countries in Europe. However, this pesticide is continually been used in the growing of garlic for both domestic use and foreign exports in China. About 31% of garlic consumed in the U.S is imported from China.
- Chicken From China
China has the highest cases of avian flu, as well as food borne diseases. Yet in 2013, the permission for sale of Chinese chicken in the U.S was granted by the United States Department of Agriculture.
- Chinese Tilapia Fish
It is estimated that about 80% of all tilapia fish consumed in the U.S is imported from China. With the severe water pollution in China, this makes consuming the fish extremely dangerous, as the fish is known to consume whatsoever it is capable of finding to eat, as the tilapia fish is a known bottom eater.
- Made In China Industrial Salt
Salt produced in China posed as table salt is usually industrial salt which can raise our risk of high blood pressure and hypertension, cardiovascular problems like stroke and sudden heart attack.
