You should be careful with what you ingest these days as the foods you eat could be highly processed and or genetically modified. Highly refined and processed foods are known to cause obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disorders and also lead to the development of cancerous cells in humans.
The chemicals used in processing GMO such as the pesticides are known to be carcinogenic and these chemicals are not easily removed from the body of GMO fruits for example and can be easily ingested causing harm.
You should stay clear of the following foods.
1. Refined Sugar
It causes obesity, diabetes and also puts undue pressure on your liver, pancreas as well as digestive system. Each time refined sugar is consumed it is believed that the nervous system is compromised by as much as 50%.
Consume foods with natural sugar like fruits and pure honey.
2. White Flour
White flour causes as much damage as refined sugar. It will hinder insulin levels and make the body store fat, it also puts strain on the pancreas and liver.
The processing of the flour takes out most of the fibers and nutrients from the flour.
3. Dairy Products Like Milk
The older we get the less lactose tolerant we become. Milk along with other dairy products can affect the digestive system causing bloating, indigestion and food intolerance. This increases the acidity of our bodies and raises our risk of inflammatory ailments.
Consume coconut and almond milk, they are more healthier.
4. Avoid Fast Or Processed Food
You increase your salt and sodium intake when you eat processed or fast food regularly. This will lead to high blood pressure and could result in hypertension.
Processed food is also high in saturated fats which can clog your arteries and lead to stroke and heart attack.
5. Stop Eating Processed Meat
Processed meat is high in sodium and nitrates and this is very dangerous to our health. You can increase your risk of colon cancer according to the American Institute for Cancer Research.
Processed meat when consumed will lead to the nitrates being converted to nitrites and they then form nitrosamine which is a very potent carcinogenic compound.
6. Stop Eating Doughnuts
Doughnuts comprise of unhealthy foods such as refined sugar, white flour, sodium and trans-fat. Eating then regularly will increase your risk of diabetes and heart disease.
7. Potato Crisps Are Not Healthy
Foods fried at very high temperatures can form acrylamide and this is a known carcinogen.
It is believed that this acrylamide is responsible for the rise in cancer cases in America annually. Potato crisps are also coated with salt and this high amount of sodium can lead to high blood pressure and an increase in the cholesterol levels, this will raise your risk of developing a stroke and heart attack. In 2005, an article was published in Cancer Science that gastric cancer can be linked to a sodium rich diet.
8. Quit Drinking Sodas
Your favourite beverages are rich in refined sugar which is responsible for obesity and diabetes. It was also revealed by the Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers and Prevention in their study that if a man drinks only two bottles of soda every week it can lead to a significant growth in their pancreas.
There are at least 10 teaspoons of refined sugar in a bottle of soda and 30 to 55 mg of caffeine, as suggested by Dr Joseph Mercola, who is an American specialist and a New York Times top of the line creator.
Research has also shown that soda can corrode the bones leading to osteoporosis.
9. Stop Taking Margarine
Margarine is a trans-fats which our body is not able to properly process. It will increase the cholesterol levels of the body and destroy blood vessels.
It will put tremendous strain on the liver as well.
10. Avoid Canned Food
Canned foods are rich in sodium and this raises the blood pressure and can lead to high blood pressure and hypertension.
It is believed that a can of soup has about 890 milligrams of sodium, this translates to about our daily requirement alone.
